WordPress Developer
Mediaforce is looking for the right developer who can develop custom, often complex WordPress-based solutions and general PHP framework-based solutions. They will also be able comfortable consulting and supporting others (i.e.project and account managers) in planning web projects, gathering required information/assets from clients, and in resolving general technical questions.
Our new dev will take initiative in finding/developing new technologies and methods to meet client needs, and will support other developers with system design and implementation.
Ideally, they will perform basic server maintenance and monitoring, and will help resolve support issues with client websites and email. They will also have a strong proficiency in written and spoken English as this position will also involve implementation of content as well as direct contact with our clients. French and other languages are considered an asset but not required.
Description
Develops custom, often complex WordPress-based solutions along with general PHP framework-based solutions. Aids sales staff, account managers, and others in requirements gathering, web project planning, and general technical questions. Provides leadership in finding/developing new technologies and methods to advance the company’s web offerings. Aids other developers with system design and implementation. Performs server maintenance and monitoring. Supports current client websites and email by providing technical support.
Essential Skills
Strong understanding of PHP back-end development.
Good understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery.
Experience and knowledge of WordPress CMS
Knowledge of PHP frameworks (CodeIgniter etc.)

Contributing to “scope of build” conversations with development team, project managers, designers and other developers
Integrating sliced PSD files (usually already converted to HTML/CSS) into either WordPress or some other proven open source system (note: WordPress is our primary CMS platform); many of our builds are responsive
Developing custom web applications that drive business processes
Monitoring health and uptime of servers (general server admin in a managed services environment; no in-depth configuration required)
Collaborating with design, strategy and sales teams to find solutions for client website projects
Contributing to ongoing support of client websites
Participating in regular company-wide and team meetings
Participating in on-site and off-site client meetings

Developing wireframe mockups to illustrate possible solutions
